So, last weekend we went to see the Wiener Nationals (wiener dog races ... I am such a sports fan). It was pretty hilarious. I am certain I have never seen so many wiener dogs in my entire life.

We had to sit through the horse races between wiener dog heats. Bor-ing.
So all the owners line up and stuff their dogs into these little boxes at the beginning of the race. The dogs are supposed to run to their other owner/friends at the finish line.
But each time, they would just run out of their boxes and happily race around to the people at the starting line.
But, usually one dog would figure out how to run to the other end.
Victory!
Bonus: This lady won this hot dog costume for her wiener dog.

man, why don't they have AWESOME stuff like this in colorado?!?!!? maybe they do and i'm just looking in all the wrong places...
can i just say, that first pic of lizzo holding food was VERY misleading... i thought the wiener nationals was a hot dog festival, and the race was with hot dogs. looking back, that seems unreasonable, but it's just what i thought. and i COULD NOT imagine how the hot dog race was gonna work on a horse track. luckily, the pictures of the doggies cleared it up.
get a long little doggie, it's your misfortune and none of my own.
I too was picturing hot dog races like you see at brewers games. alas. did you bet on them? did they lay odds so people could bet?
